Anyone do any fishing? I live in Texas and do a lot of fishing in the bay/Gulf of Mexico. I'm real big on surf fishing as well. Reds/Specs/Flounders.

I lived near the water boating in south Florida until recently. Big into deep sea fishing off the coast of Ft. Lauderdale and Miami. Also love SCUBA for spear fishing and lobster season.

During the scamdemic, I bought land away from the crowds and moved away. The only thing I miss is the water. Biscayne Bay and the keys are such an amazing place for fishing and boating.

Is there good fishing on the gulf from shore? I live 20 miles from the coast now North West of Ocala. I still have all my International reels but they are for big fish. Never tried surf fishing but willing to give it a try.

Some great fishing out here in the bay and in the gulf. I fish in a place called Matagorda Bay and out in Galveston Bay. I go out with friends and tie off to the old oil rig platforms and catch massive snappers. In the bay, I'm usually targeting reds, specs, and flounders. If you catch all three in a day it's called a texas slam.

Surf fishing is so fun. Basically on the beach with a nice calm tide and you try and cast out as far as you can into the bay. Usually there are multiple sandbars, and depending on what you want to fish for people sometimes wade out 50 to 100 yards in the water before getting into deep water. I usually use live mullet or fresh dead mullet, sometimes catch a few crabs and use that for bait too. Man...making me get the itch now.
