Any college football fans here?

I'm a HUGE fan of CFB. We are about 6 weeks out from the first games, and I can't wait! September through 1st week of January is the best time of the year for me. I first started dating my wife in August one year. I told her right away that "once September starts, don't make any plans for me or us on Saturdays until the middle of January. My Saturdays are always booked." Now she's a huge CFB fan as well, so we have great times on Saturdays. Super stoked for the season to start.

I have never understood the allure of watching other people play sports to be honest....why not watch an interesting TV show instead? (imo)
But its great that its something you and your wife have in common. If my significant other told me theyd rather see people play sports than me, id be pretty offended LOL

Do you like any sports? I'm in the south, so there weren't any professional sports teams down here until the late 1960's. I think because of that, college sports have a much bigger following than they do in northern states where pro ball is bigger.

Well, I love sports because I grew up playing them and my dad was a big sports fan. My mom was a professor at the college that I cheer for, and we were always going to their games when I was a kid. Also, I didn't tell my wife I'd rather see sports than her, just told her that my Saturdays during the Fall are busy with football. It's pretty normal where I live I guess. She came into the relationship as a passionate soccer fan (she's French and they are really good) so I think it was easy for her to understand.

Surfing, Skateboarding and Snowboarding.

Ooooh yeah im very familiar with the south and their love of collage football.

I went to school in North Florida right by Jax Stadium. At the time the Jaguars barely could fill 25% of the stadium for games. They actually blocked out local games on TV in hopes people would by tickets to see them play live.

In order for the stadium owners to make money they rented out the stadium for events and other teams to play.

Florida Georgia NEVER had an issue selling out the stadium. Nor did UF vs FSU.

It was like they were buying tickets to the second coming of Jesus
