The Ryzen 7 3800X delivers a multi-core score of over 34 thousand points and a single core score of over 54 hundred points in Geekbench 4. The CPU was paired with a prototype X470 chipset motherboard and entry level 16GB DDR4 memory with modest speeds. Despite being hamstrung by lackluster memory, the 3800X put on an impressive showing.

To put these figures into context, Intel’s similarly priced core i7 9700K scores ~28400 points and the flagship i9 9900K delivers no more than ~31500 points in the same test. But thanks to very aggressive boost clocks, the Intel chips manage to claw back some ground and maintain roughly a 10% advantage in single threaded performance in the same test against AMD’s newcomer.

AMD seems to be real close to the real world scenario of performance.... at the begining i was trying to update to ryzen, but i think bout it, and hold my breath, i guess i was right to wait a little longer

i did buy the RX480 at launch, that card was oustanding, i could play BF1/4/3 maxed out without issues, i cant imagine the newer cards

the most exciting part of this, will be the comeback of intel

Knocking on the 9900k's door is no joke.

I am still running a 4770k without a lot of trouble but the thought of upgrading is always there.
The cost of a mobo, DDR4 RAM and a new CPU have always been to high to justify it. Maybe these new AMDs will bring prices down on midrange chips.

AMD is aiming at markets that Intel has continued to ignore. That Ryzen 9 3950X is 16-core 32-thread CPU @ $750. The closest Intel competition is the i9-7960X @ $1,700 and the clock speeds are pretty dismal and uses a huge amount of power by comparison.

Remember when Quad-Core CPUs from Intel were the only option?

Intel is a funnel on prices that is for sure and AMD is a Pyramid! Thought I still believe that INTEL was made more for gaming compare to AMD!
